Science of Fantasy Football Lab
Each week, I will bring a brief update on each team, including the latest injury concerns and performances over the past week. This will also include recommendations for potential waiver-wire pickups and suggested FAAB bids. FAAB bids and availability will be based on the FPPC $1000 bankroll. Week eight is in the books. Let’s reason backward to look forward for all 32 teams. Players mentioned as possible waiver wire additions are available in at least 6% of FPPC leagues at this time.
Arizona Cardinals
TE Trey McBride is at a level of production that would be equal to RB or WR 5 this season.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Atlanta Falcons
Won without London but need Drake back fast if they want to retain their slim playoff chance.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Baltimore Ravens
Back-to-back lousy games from Lamar were mentioned in Nostradamus’ writings as a precursor for the end of the world.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen saw an 80% reduction in Fantasy points from week 11 to 12, but an 80% increase from week 12 to week 13 wouldn’t make Fantasy Managers happy. (Isn’t math fun?)
No Waiver Targets This Week
Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young’s inconsistency limits the consistency of other parts and pieces in this offense from a Fantasy Football perspective.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams' MVP Index for this season is now at a QB12 level
No Waiver Target This Week
Cincinnati Bengals
The return of Joe Burrow and Chase will be huge this week, but they might miss Higgins more than most think.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Cleveland Browns
Shadeur didn’t play as well as many in the media claim, nor as poorly as his detractors claim.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Dallas Cowboys
Twenty-four straight points against the Eagles to pull out a big win was almost as stunning as George Pickens turning into the WR1 over Cee Dee Lamb over the last few weeks.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Denver Broncos
Will the volume for the RBs change after their Bye week?
Possible Waiver Addition: WR Troy Franklin is starting to get WR1 volume and is worth a $100 bid this week, and he is available in 32% of FPPC leagues.
Detroit Lions
The drop in volume for David Montgomery is good news for Jamyr Gibbs owners in Fantasy Football.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Green Bay Packers
Emmanuel Wilson had a strong game, but he probably heads back to the bench with the expected return of Jacobs on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit.
Possible Waiver Addition: Emmanuel Wilson paid off as a waiver add last week and is still worth a $25 bid in case Jacobs’ injury issues resurface.
Houston Texans
Mills played well in Stroud’s absence, but the parts and pieces of this offense for Fantasy Football purposes are more consistent with Stroud at QB.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Indianapolis Colts
Even Jonathan Taylor was stopped by that Chiefs defense, so I’m not ready to put all the blame on Daniel Jones.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Jacksonville Jaguars
The demise of Travis Etienne’s volume was greatly exaggerated
No Waiver Targets This Week
Kansas City Chiefs
The signing of Dameon Pierce was more of an indictment on the players in the return game than an indication that there would be a significant change in the RB room for the Chiefs.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Las Vegas Raiders
Hiring an old QB and an even older Coach to turn things around might not have worked as well as planned.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Los Angeles Chargers
Will we see the return of Omarion Hampton this week?
No Waiver Targets This Week
Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford should be favored to win the MVP Award right now.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Miami Dolphins
Looking at the remaining schedule, Achane and Waddle might be winning some Fantasy Football Managers a lot of money this season.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Minnesota Vikings
Playing poorly enough at QB to give the Head Coach a raging headache is enough nowadays to get put in Concussion Protocol.
No Waiver Targets This Week
New England Patriots
It wasn’t his best game by far, but Drake Maye showed why he has earned consideration as the MVP this season.
No Waiver Targets This Week
New Orleans Saints
Injury to Alvin Kamara simplifies the starting lineup decisions for many Fantasy Football Managers because Kamara has gone from the “Must Start” to “Why Start” list.
Possible Waiver Addition: Devin Neal is a great $150 bid this week in FPPC, but is only available in 33% of the leagues.
New York Giants
The Jameis Winston experiment worked well for Fantasy Football, but this team is much better in real football with Jaxson Dart. Meanwhile, Dale Robinson has become a solid WR1-level starter over the past 7 weeks.
No Waiver Targets This Week
New York Jets
The injury to Garret Wilson has shown Jets fans that those trades for Metchie and Mitchell were smart moves.
Possible Waiver Addition: John Metchie has shown people why he was originally a second-round pick in the NFL Draft and is worth a $50 bid in FPPC leagues where he is still available in 96% of leagues.
Philadelphia Eagles
AJ Brown is averaging 18 PPR points per game since he told everyone to sit him in Fantasy Football.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Pittsburgh Steelers
They have lost 4 of their last six games and are suddenly on the outside looking in for the playoffs.
No Waiver Targets This Week
San Francisco 49ers
Almost everyone on the roster has missed games this year, except for Christian McCaffrey, the guy every Fantasy Football Manager thought would miss too many games this season.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Seattle Seahawks
Jaxson Smith-Njigba just set the all-time single-season record for receiving yards for the Seahawks in just 11 games, and Steve Largent is an NFL Hall of Famer. That’s how great JSN has been this season.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Even when (or if) Bucky Irving returns, Sean Tucker still has earned playing time and possibly goal-line carries for the rest of the season. The injury to Baker Mayfield could derail this entire offense.
Possible Waiver Addition: RB Sean Tucker is still worth a $100 bid this week and is available in 20% of FPPC leagues.
Tennessee Titans
Injuries opened possibilities for him, but Chimere Dike is the real deal. If they can rebuild that offensive line in the offseason, this could be an excellent offense next season.
Possible Waiver Addition: Chimere Dike is worth a $100 bid this week and is available in 70% of FPPC leagues.
Washington Commanders
They could get WR Terry McLaurin back this week, but it might be another week without QB Jayden Daniels.
Possible Waiver Addition: QB Marcus Mariota is worth a $100 bid if you need QB help this week and he is available in 72% of FPPC leagues.
QB Marcus Mariota $100
RB Devin Neal $150
RB Sean Tucker $100
RB Emmanuel Wilson $25
WR Chimere Dike $100
WR Troy Franklin $100
WR John Metchie $50
