Week 4 APP Index Waiver Wire (after Week 3, 2026)

Tuesday, September 29 — spend more aggressively in Weeks 1–4 on clear role winners (injury replacements or 60–70%+ snaps). Miami’s offense is one of the league’s worst (low implied totals), so volume there is discounted even when a player inherits the job.

Scoring notes (how the weights landed)

QB — Geno Smith (73)
Consensus streamer after 321 yards / 3 TDs at Detroit. Next-4 starts @CHI (Bears have already allowed explosive passing weeks), then CLE/NE/MIA — middling-to-positive scripts if Hall remains out and Jets trail. Opportunity spiked with Hall (quad, week-to-week) and Adonai Mitchell dinged. Volume is pass-game dependent rather than elite team pass rate. Darnold is the better talent/volume play if still available but is more widely rostered; Mariota is a short-term Daniels fill-in vs IND in London (47.5 total).

RB — Braelon Allen (81) over Gordon (76)
Allen is the cleaner role winner: only other Jet with meaningful Week 3 touches after Hall left; next-4 (@CHI, CLE, @NE, MIA) is far more usable than Miami’s slate. Gordon inherited the job after Achane’s season-ending ACL and posted 17-41-1 + 3 catches, but Miami is a heavy underdog with a 38.5 total at Minnesota and a generally anemic offense — high individual share, low team volume and poor implied scoring. Wright (foot/stinger, inactive Week 3) is the loftier athlete and should be stashed in the same backfield; treat as a committee until proven otherwise. Kamara gets Etienne’s vacated work (hamstring) but Saints efficiency and committee risk cap the score.

WR — Keenan Allen (75)
Pierce on IR opened a clear target bump (9 targets, 6-63-1 in Week 3). Colts next-4 starts vs WAS in London (47.5 total, IND favored) then PIT/TEN — one of the better available scripts. Wicks has been the most consistent Eagles WR2/3 with Goedert (MCL) out and is the higher-upside stash if Smith/Lemon usage stays modest; Lemon (1st-round talent) is more of a longer-term bet and already rostered in more leagues. Bell’s route share jumped in Miami, but the same low team total that hurts Gordon caps him.

TE — Kenyon Sadiq (83)
Clearest “spend” of the week. 7-105-1 on 8 targets, plus Hall’s absence should keep Jets passing. Athletic profile (high draft capital) + immediate opportunity: PC is the combination the formula rewards most. Waller is a usable streamer with volume in Carolina; Ferguson is Puka/injury contingent.

Allen and Sadiq if you need RB/TE production this week; 

Gordon is still a must-roster in most formats because the job is his until Wright is fully healthy, but do not overpay as if Miami were a functional offense.
