Science of Fantasy Football Lab
Each week, I will provide a brief update on each team, covering the latest injury concerns and key performances from the past week. This will also include recommendations for possible waiver wire pickups and suggested FAAB bids. FAAB bids and availability will be based on the FPPC $1000 bankroll. Week two is in the books; let’s look forward to what's ahead for all 32 teams.
Arizona Cardinals
We saw more of Trey Benson in week 2, but cagey veteran James Conner is still the lead RB for now.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons’ defense is fierce, so that Drake London could be game script dependent for his production. Kyle Pitts is becoming a reliable choice at TE.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Baltimore Ravens
We saw a rare, horrible game for King Henry and another bad game for TE Mark Andrews.
Possible Waiver Addition: DeAndre Hopkins is turning into a solid red zone target in this offense and is worth a $1 holler if you need a depth play at WR and is available in 31% of FPPC leagues.
Buffalo Bills
Khalil Shakir fell below 50% in offensive snaps this week., Coleman and Palmer are the WRs to own in Fantasy Football. Bills
No Waiver Targets This Week
Carolina Panthers
Tetairoa McMillan has excellent, eye-catching catches just barely out of bounds in each of the last two. Heks will emerge as a WR1-level producer if Bryce Young can be effective. WR Hunter Renfrow saw 81% of the offensive snaps this week, and TE Sanders saw nine targets.
Possible Waiver Addition: TE Sanders is only available in 10% of FPPC leagues, but is worth a $30 bid. WR Hunter Renfrow is worth a $1 bid and is available in 97% of FPPC leagues.
Chicago Bears
RB Kyle Monangai saw 10 opportunities this week, eek, and Rome Odunze has established himself as the WR1 on the team with 20 targets over the first two games of the season.
Possible Waiver Addition: RB Monangai is worth a $20 bid this week and is available in 19% of FPPC leagues.
Cincinnati Bengals
Bengals' hopes for a return to the playoffs seemed to go down with Joe Burrow’s Turf Toe, but backup QB Jake Browning performed exceptionally well in relief. TE isn't worth a given with their snap percentages from week to week.
Possible Waiver Addition: QB Jake Browning is worth a $50 bid if you need to replace Burrow on your roster, but otherwise, he is only worth about $10 to most teams.
Cleveland Browns
The Dylan Sampson Era lasted from September 7, 2025, to September 13, 2025, with the appearance of RB Quinshon Judkins. Hold on to your Sampson shares in case of injury or suspension.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Dallas Cowboys
The Giants and Cowboys combined for 41 points in the 4th quarter, but took all of the overtime just to score 3. The weak Cowboys’ defense means good things for Dak/Lamb owners in Fantasy Football.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Denver Broncos
RJ Harvey has only seen seven opportunities each week; keep him out of your lineup considerations until the volume increases. WR Troy Franklin has already seen 15 targets.
Possible Waiver Addition: WR Troy Franklin is a nice $10 bid on FPPC and is available in 43% of leagues.
Detroit Lions
The Lions have a point differential home/away split of +31 to -14 this season, small sample size warning included. At home, you'd better start with everyone, including the Lions' water boys.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Green Bay Packers
The Packers opened the season with two of the best offenses in the NFL and made them both look like below-average teams. Only junk time yardage allowed either team to gain more than 200 yards against their defense. Jayden Reese spent most of the Fantasy season on the sidelines with a broken collarbone.
Possible Waiver Addition: Romeo Doubs isn’t available in most leagues, but Dontayvion Wicks might be a solid addition for a $5 bid, and he is available in 76% of FPPC leagues.
Houston Texans
Six catches on 14 targets for Nico Co., Linns, who was drafted in Fantasy Football to have 10 catches a week.
Possible Waiver Addition: If Woody Marks is available in your league, he is worth a $40 bid on FPPC, but he is only available in 12% of leagues right now
Indianapolis Colts
Did anyone predict that Daniel Jones would be QB4 after two weeks in Fantasy Football? If so, please send me the winning numbers for next week's Powerball.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Jacksonville Jag
Travis Hunter will see more defensive snaps this week, and Travis saw 10 touches in week two. Etienne is still the lead RB, but they will limit his volume.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Kansas City Chiefs
Isiah Pacheco has not looked good so far, so Kareem Hunt or the rookie Brashard Smith might see more touches in the weeks ahead. Xavier Worthy is expected to play week 3 with a torn labrum.
Possible Waiver Addition: Kareem Hunt is only available in 8% of FPPC leagues, but would be a good $25 bid this week. WR Tyquan Thornton is worth a $1 holler and is available in 93% of leagues.
Las Vegas Raiders
Rookie RB Ashton Jeanty averaged 2.7 yards per carry, falling short of the “Saquan-like” forecast. Additionally, Geno Smith threw 3 INTs, indicating that this offense can be stopped.
Possible Waiver Addition: WR Dont’e Thornton has four targets each of the first two weeks and could emerge as a solid flex play later in the season. Worth a $1 holler this week in FPPC leagues and is available in 17% of leagues.
Los Angeles Chargers
NFL stats could have been led a late fumble away from rookie RB Omarion Hampton, but the coaching staff leaned into Najee Harris at the end of the game. Justin Herbert has been unleashed and is the QB3 after 2 weeks.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Los Angeles Rams
Many Fantasy Football Analysts wondered how Davante Adams would affect Puka Nacua. After two weeks, KS, your WR starters would have logged a total of 32 and 49 points if you started them both each week. (WR1 and WR15 for Nacua and Adam) Although he hasn’t seen the field much in the first two weeks, rookie RB Jarquez Hunter is a nice $1 holler roster stash for the future and is available in 21% of FPPC leagues.
Miami Dolphins
Tua has a Fantasy Football home/away split of -8, which is another way too small of a sample size comparison, but this offense does trend home happy over the last 2 seasons.
Possible Waiver Addition: Malik Washington, a friendly $1 holler this week on FPPC, in case there is a trade or suspension for veteran WR Tyreek Hill.
Minnesota Vikings
JJ McCarthy looked great in one out of eight quarters so far this season, but will now go to the bench with an injury, with Carson Wentz hoping to spark this offense.
Possible Waiver Addition: If you lost Joe Burrow and are desperate at QB, Wentz is worth a $5 bid this week on FPPC leagues.
New England Patriots
Snap count and touches dropped for rookie RB TreyVeon Henderson in week two, which is a massive concern for how quickly the rookie will be getting most of the volume.
No Waiver Targets This Week
New Orleans Saints
Breaking News: Spencer Rattler looks like an NFL QB, and Juwan Johnson is the bargain TE gift that keeps on giving all season long, with a total of 20 targets.
No Waiver Targets This Week
New York Giants
Is this the start of the Cam Skattebo era in New Jersey? He saw 62% of the snaps and 13 touches in the week. If you are desperate at QB, Russel Wilson is a boom player who is worth a $25 bid on FPP. He remains available in 35% of leagues.
New York Jets
The offense fell apart when QB Justin Fields left with a concussion, and whether he can pass protocol in time to start next week is a mystery right now. The rest of the parts and pieces in this lineup might not be playable against the Buccaneers if Fields isn’t ready to go.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts has only thrown for a total of 253 yards in two weeks to start the season and might not have to throw too much all year with the excellent defense and rushing game.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Pittsburgh Steelers
Rookie RB Kaleb Johnson has seen less than 5% of the offensive snaps in the first two weeks, and now a bonehead move on the kick return team will find him a home in the coaching staff’s doghouse.
Possible Waiver Addition: RB Kenneth Gaicould could be the next man up if anything happens to Jaylen. He's worth a $1 holler in FPPC and is available in 63% of leagues.
San Francisco 49ers
QB Mac Jones looked fantastic replacing Brock Purdy, but as expected, his choice of WR target was different than Purdy's. TE Jake Tonges saw 79% of the offensive snaps in his first week, replacing Kittle.
Possible Waiver Addition: TE Jake Tonges is still available in 85% of FPPC leagues and is worth a $20 bid. QB Mac Jones is worth the investment for $20 and is available in 90% of leagues.
Seattle Seahawks
RB Zach Charbonnet had only 10 yards on 15 carries, which might solidify the starting spot for Kenneth Walker for the next few weeks. Sam Darnold bounced back from an awful week one to have a solid second week at QB on the road.
Possible Waiver Addition: Rookie WR Tory Horton found the endzone in week 2 and could be a valuable addition if anything happens to Cooper Kupp. He is worth a $1 holler in FP, PC, where he is available in 42% of leagues. QB Sam Darnold is a nice emergency replacement if you lost Burrow and are desperate. He's worth a $5 bid on FPPC, where he is available in 27% of leagues.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rookie WR Emeka Egbuka is WR13 in PPR points after two weeks. QB Baker Mayfield is proving to be one of the best values in Fantasy Football, currently ranked QB7. There was a greater volume split between the RBs in week two.
No Waiver Targets This Week
Tennessee Titans
Cam Ward looked more like a real NFL QB in Week 2, and rookie Elic Ayomanor is quickly becoming one of his favorite targets with 13 targets to 14 for veteran Calvin Ridley.
Possible Waiver Addition: This is your last chance to get WR Ayomanor, and it will take a solid $50 bid on FPPC this week, where he is now only available in 17% of leagues.
Washington Commanders
The Commanders were determined to lean on veteran RB Austin Ekeler instead of relying on the rookie called Bill. Still, an Achilles tendon injury to Ekeler will change all of that going forward. WR Terry McLaurin looked much better this week, and Deebo Samuel has found a home in this offensive attack. Veteran TE Zach Ertz had another great week.
No Waiver Targets This Week
QB Jake Browning $50
