SCIENCE OF FANTASY FOOTBALL • 2026 WEEK 3
Two-game usage is still a small sample. It is large enough to separate durable roles from one-week artifacts. This note uses offensive snaps, snap share, positional share, and PPR per snap. Missing week = zero. Scoring context is PPR / TE premium.
Method. Snap% = player snaps ÷ team offensive snaps. Pos share = player snaps ÷ team snaps at that position. PPR/snp is efficiency, not opportunity.
Week 3 action should weight opportunity first, then whether efficiency is repeatable.
Three structural facts from the two-week panel:
Script volume is not stable. Team plays swung from ARI −25 and NO −22 to PHI +21 and SEA +20. Raw snap counts can move without a role change. Always read snap% next to raw snaps.
Several “locked” Week 1 roles were not locked. Dallas Goedert 95% → 25%. Saquon Barkley 71% → 16%. Rhamondre Stevenson 85% → 36%. Nico Collins 72% → 0%. Jayden Reed 57% → 3%. Zay Flowers 29% → 0%. Treat W1-only stars as injured/inactive until proven otherwise.
A second cohort seized the job. TreVeyon Henderson 0% → 60% at 0.41 PPR/snp. Germie Bernard 4% → 79%. Jonah Coleman 6% → 40% at 0.59 PPR/snp. Rome Odunze 48% → 84%. Tucker Kraft 66% → 98%. Those are Week 3 start/stream defaults until the snap line reverses.
====================================================
Start / lean in: Henderson (NE), Kraft (GB), Odunze (CHI), Warren if Pittman stays out (PIT), Tuten/Meyers (JAX), Bateman if Flowers remains out (BAL), Lamb after 0.86 PPR/snp on 75% snaps, JSN even at 67% snaps (0.90 PPR/snp), McBride (ARI) who held 0.41 PPR/snp while the offense shrank.
Sit/fade until snaps return: Saquon, Goedert, Stevenson, Nico Collins, Pittman, Flowers, Reed, Jennings, Mason, A.J. Brown (NE 44% → 0%), Drake London’s 98% W1 rate (now 62%).
Watch the QB split; do not assume the starter: WAS Daniels 55% / Mariota 45%. ATL Rush 58% / Strand 42%. NYG Winston 88% after Dart 100% → 12%. SF Purdy 85% / Mac Jones 15%.
===================================================
If a player’s snap% moved more than 25 points, believe the new number until a third print contradicts it.
If raw snaps fell only because team plays fell (ARI, NO, NE, MIN, SF), do not punish a player whose snap% held.
If PPR/snp exploded on fewer than 15 snaps (Miller, Cody White), ignore it.
TE premium: Kraft, McBride, Warren, Kelce, Ferguson, Schultz, Waller, Helm, LaPorta are the W3 priority list from this panel.

The entire skill tree lost raw snaps because the offense shrank. Wilson (85→94%) and McBride (80→88%) absorbed a larger share of a smaller pie. Harrison Jr. 79→74% and 0.00 PPR/snp. W3 action: McBride remains the only Cardinals piece you start without apology. Harrison is a volatile WR3 until targets recover; do not use Bourne.
Rush 100→58%, Strand 0→42%. London 98→62%. Bijan 77→51% while Brian Robinson 25→48%. W3 action: Bijan is no longer a locked workhorse; Robinson is a viable FLEX if the split holds. London’s volume is damaged — do not pay W1 price. Monitor who starts at QB before streaming Atlanta pass catchers.
Flowers 29→0%, Lane 40→0%. Bateman 78→93% and 0.00→0.40 PPR/snp. Henry still 53–54% but efficiency 0.95→0.57. W3 action: If Flowers is out, Bateman is a WR2. Henry remains an RB1 on role, not on W1 exploding efficiency. Andrews stable at ~71%.
More plays. Coleman 50→74%. D.J. Moore 76→31%. Cook 72→74%. Kincaid 72→66% but 0.46 PPR/snp. W3 action: Cook and Kincaid are the stable Bills. Coleman is the W3 upside add. Moore is a drop candidate if this was a role loss, not a game script.
Young still the QB. Hubbard 71→65%. Waller 35→44% at 0.63 PPR/snp. McMillan 82→80%. W3 action: Waller is the TE-premium streaming flag. Hubbard is still the RB, slightly less locked. McMillan holds.
Odunze 48→84% is the cleanest WR usage jump in the league among established names. Burden 73→57%. Swift 57→68% but 0.75→0.26 PPR/snp. Williams: 86% of snaps. W3 action: Start Odunze. Fade Swift’s W1 efficiency. Kmet 57→69% with 0.00 PPR/snp — snaps without production; only a TE-premium dart.
Chase 94→88% and 0.05→0.50 PPR/snp. Higgins 72% both weeks, efficiency up. Brown 72→70%. W3 action: Chase is back to being Chase. Brown is the RB. Sample/Gesicki are not TE-premium starts.
Boston 92→93%. Fannin 82→86%. Judkins 65→67%. Jeudy 63→59% at 0.00 PPR/snp. W3 action: Boston and Fannin are the Browns to roster. Jeudy is a hold-only on name; the snap/efficiency combo is a cut warning in shallow leagues.
Lamb 81→75% but 0.33→0.86 PPR/snp. Javonte 71→80% with efficiency crash 0.59→0.18. Ferguson 76→60% with 0.06→0.62 PPR/snp. W3 action: Lamb is a smash start. Javonte is a volume RB2, not a smash. Ferguson is the TE-premium start if the target spike was real — one week, but the role is still 60%+.
RJ Harvey 51→0%. Jonah Coleman 6→40% at 0.59 PPR/snp. Waddle 75→61% but 0.03→0.57 PPR/snp. Trautman 37→65%. W3 action: Coleman is the W3 RB add if Harvey is out. Waddle is a start on efficiency plus still-majority snaps. Sutton is the stable but low-efficiency WR.
LaPorta 81→98%. St. Brown 90→95% and 0.42→0.57. Gibbs 74→83%. Jamo 84→97%. W3 action: Detroit is the cleanest “start your guys” roster in the data. No Week 3 fade inside the core four.
Kraft 66→98%. Reed 57→3%. Watson 76→90%. Golden 82→86%. Jonnu 47→22%. W3 action: Kraft is a TE1 while this snap line holds. Reed is unstartable. Watson/Golden are the Packers WRs.
Nico Collins 72→0%. Boutte 46→73%. Hutchinson 56→81%. Noel 30→60%. Schultz 66→68% and 0.14→0.48 PPR/snp. W3 action: If Collins is out, Boutte/Hutchinson are the WR streams, and Schultz is a TE-premium start. Montgomery/Marks remain a split; neither is a locked RB1.
Taylor 89→94%. Warren 93→89%. Treadwell 35→74%. Pierce 59→26%. Allen 67→51%. W3 action: Taylor and Warren are automatic. Treadwell is the W3 WR add. Pierce/Allen are cuts or benches.
Meyers 65→90%. Parker Washington 61→81%. Strange 68→83%. Tuten 49→51% at 0.47 PPR/snp. BTJ 35→54%. W3 action: Meyers is a WR2 on snaps. Tuten is the Jags RB to start in the split. Strange is a TE-premium stream.
More plays. Worthy 77→86%. Rice 83→79%. Kelce 71→85% and 0.21→0.37. Walker 68→83%, but 0.73→0.36 PPR/snp. W3 action: Kelce’s snap recovery is the TE-premium headline. Walker is a volume RB2. Worthy/Rice both hold 79%+.
Hampton 58→63% and 0.26→0.41. Harris 75→82%. Johnston 78→81%. McConkey 49→46% and 0.71→0.21. Njoku 55→16%. W3 action: Hampton is the Chargers RB. McConkey is a talent hold whose snaps are not WR1. Do not start Njoku in a W1 role.
Nacua 70→0%. Adams 54→65% and 0.17→0.99 PPR/snp. Mumpfield 26→69%. Kyren 64→55%. Parkinson 77→71%. W3 action: If Nacua is out, Adams is a WR1 and Mumpfield is a WR3/flex. Kyren is still the RB, but the share slipped; Corum 23→45% is the handcuff you actually roster.
Jeanty 74→81% with 0.65→0.20 PPR/snp. Tucker 71→59% but 0.10→0.62. Mayer 81→84%. W3 action: Jeanty is a start on role; fade the W1 efficiency. Tucker is a boom WR. Mayer is a TE-premium stream, not a smash.
Washington 98→73%. Achane 86→76%. Dulcich 77→61%. W3 action: Achane remains the only must-start Dolphin. Washington is still usable but no longer a 98% lock. Do not chase Ryan Miller’s 2.10 PPR/snp on 7 snaps.
Jefferson 92→100%. Jones 46→81%. Mason 45→0%. Jennings 48→0%. Price 5→50% with 0.00 PPR/snp. Addison 83→88%. W3 action: Jefferson and Addison hold. Jones is the RB if Mason is out. Price is snaps without production — watch, do not start.
Henderson 0→60% at 0.41 PPR/snp. Stevenson 85→36%. A.J. Brown 44→0%. Doubs 56→67% and 0.00→0.34. Henry 76→91%. W3 action: This is the clearest RB takeover in the dataset. Start Henderson. Sit Stevenson until the split flips. Doubs is the Patriots WR to start; Brown is out of the W3 conversation.
Offense collapsed in volume. Olave 86→84%. Vele 91→96%. Kamara 0→29%. Etienne 59→54%. Juwan 84→53%. W3 action: Olave/Vele survive the script shrink. Kamara is back in the committee — FLEX, not RB1. Juwan is no longer an 84% TE.
Dart 100→12%, Winston 0→88%. Nabers 52→74% but 0.36→0.03 PPR/snp. Skattebo 61→59%. Likely 49→69%. W3 action: Nabers is a start on snaps, not on W2 efficiency. Confirm Winston before streaming Giants pass catchers. Skattebo holds the RB job.
G. Wilson 75→88%. Adonai Mitchell 69→82%. Isaiah Williams 60→82%. Hall 58→65%. Mason Taylor 66→46%. W3 action: Wilson is the WR1. Hall is the RB. The two other WRs are deep-league only. Taylor’s snap drop knocks him off the TE-premium start list.
More plays, different people. Goedert 95→25%. Saquon 71→16%. Shipley 18→51%. Mundt 36→64%. DeVonta 95→88% and 0.16→0.41. Hurts 100% both weeks, 0.45→0.21 PPR/snp. W3 action: Do not start Saquon or Goedert until snaps print. Shipley/Bigsby are the W3 Eagles RBs. DeVonta is the safest Eagle. Mundt is the TE-premium replacement only if Goedert stays down.
Pittman 88→0%. Bernard 4→79%. Warren 37→71%. Dowdle 58→26%. Metcalf 96→97%. W3 action: If Pittman is out, Bernard is a WR3/flex on snaps. Warren is the lead back. Metcalf is the WR1 regardless. Rodgers 96% but 0.06 PPR/snp — do not stream the QB.
More plays. JSN 90→67% but 0.58→0.90 PPR/snp. Kupp 78→43%. Lock 90→100%. Emanuel Wilson 6→41%. W3 action: JSN is a WR1 on efficiency even with a snap dip. Kupp is a fade at 43%. Wilson is the Seahawks RB to roster in the committee.
Purdy 100→85%, Mac Jones 0→15%. CMC 55→52% and 0.38→0.84 PPR/snp. Kittle 46→48% and 0.11→0.72. Evans 75→54%. Cowing 8→46%. W3 action: CMC and Kittle are starts. Evans is slipping. Confirm Purdy before paying up for 49ers passing.
Irving 61→78%. Gainwell 46→35%. Otton 98→89%. Godwin/Egbuka both 86%. W3 action: Irving is a locked RB2/flex. The two WRs and Otton are stable. No radical W3 change except Irving’s tightened grip.
Ward 100%. Helm 76→87%. Tate 88→75%. Wan’Dale 82→53%. Pollard 52→55%. Spears 50→36%, but 0.18→0.47 PPR/snp. W3 action: Helm is the TE-premium Titan. Pollard is the RB, Spears is the committee spark. Wan’Dale’s snap crash is a sit.
Daniels 100→55%, Mariota 0→45%. Okonkwo 56→0%. Sinnott 26→68%. McLaurin 87→70%. Diggs 63→51% and 0.35→0.60. White 41→52%. W3 action: Confirm the QB before starting Washington pass catchers. Sinnott replaces Okonkwo as the TE. Diggs is the better W3 start than McLaurin on efficiency. White is the RB to use in the split.
