2026 Fantasy Football Lab is Open for Business
2026 12-team PPR ADP landscape (primarily FantasyFootballCalculator data from ~5,600+ human mock drafts, Aug 3–11 2026; cross-checked with FantasyPros Draft Wizard and other consensus sources). Adjusted lightly for 1QB + 1.5 TEP (tight end premium elevates early TE value vs pure PPR) and deep benches. Total picks per round = 12. Snake draft flow assumed.
RBs
12th RB: Josh Jacobs (~24.3) — end of Round 2
24th RB: TreVeyon Henderson (~55.5) — mid/late Round 5
36th RB: Rachaad White (~98–99) — Round 9
48th RB: ~150 (Jaydon Blue range) — Round 13
60th RB: ~165 — Round 14
WRs
12th WR: Nico Collins (~23.5) — end of Round 2
24th WR: Jaylen Waddle (~48.8) — end of Round 4
36th WR: Parker Washington (~74) — Round 7
48th WR: ~102 — Round 9
60th WR: ~134 — Round 12
QBs
12th QB: Jaxson Dart (~103) — Round 9
24th QB: ~160–161 — Round 14 (QB1 Josh Allen ~26–27, Round 3; next tier clusters Rounds 4–7)
TEs (standard PPR; 1.5 TEP pushes top names earlier)
12th TE: Isaiah Likely (~135–136) — Round 12
24th TE: ~176 — Round 15 (Top: Trey McBride ~35, Brock Bowers ~41 — Rounds 3–4)
Notes on counts: Early RB/WR balance is close to even (slight WR edge in pure PPR; TEP can shift 1–2 early picks toward TE). RB volume drops sharply after the top ~24. WR depth is deeper and more consistent. QB is front-loaded at the elite level then sparse until mid/late. TE has a sharp top tier then long drought (exacerbated or eased by 1.5 TEP depending on league behavior).
% of top RBs taken by Round X (using ~60 relevant RBs for deep leagues): ~20% by end R2 (12th RB), ~40% by end R5 (24th), ~60% by Round 9 (36th). The true starter cliff hits hard after Round 5.
% of top WRs: ~20% by end R2 (12th), ~40% by end R4 (24th), ~60% by Round 7 (36th). WR remains the deepest position deep into the draft.
QB scarcity points: Elite tier (Allen + next 4–6) gone by ~Round 6–7. The 12th QB lands Round 9; streaming/backup options dominate after. In 1QB you can wait, but the drop-off after the top 6–8 is real.
TE scarcity (amplified by 1.5 TEP): Top 2 (McBride/Bowers) in Rounds 3–4. Next tier (Loveland, Warren, Kraft, etc.) Rounds 5–8. The 12th TE is not until ~Round 12. Premium scoring makes the early TE investment higher-ROI than in standard PPR; the middle class is thin.
Better Than Zero (elite WR/TE early, fade early RBs, attack mid-round RBs + upside) is well-supported by the current landscape:
The RB pool is front-loaded. Taking 0–1 RB through the first 3–4 rounds leaves you competing for the solid mid-tier (Judkins, Tuten, Henderson, Price, etc. in Rounds 5–7) while others scramble after the 24th RB is gone.
WR depth is excellent. You can secure 3–4 high-upside WRs early/mid and still find usable depth later. This is the foundation of the strategy.
In 1.5 TEP, prioritize one of the top-2 TEs if they fall into the late-3/early-4 window — the scoring boost + scarcity makes them closer to WR1 value than in standard PPR.
QB can be delayed until Rounds 6–9 without major penalty in pure 1QB (the 12th starter is still available late). Focus capital on skill positions.
Deep benches reward the strategy: late-round RB handcuffs and WR dart throws retain more value when rosters are large. Target committee backs and rookies with clear paths in Rounds 10+.
Risk management: The strategy fails if the mid-round RBs you target underperform or if your league aggressively forces early RBs (rare in current ADP). Monitor live for runs.
Data is relatively stable mid-August, but notable movements include:
Rookie RBs (Jeanty, Love/Jeremiyah, Judkins, Tuten, Henderson) holding or rising into the top 25–60 range.
Certain veteran RBs (e.g., some post-prime or committee names) sliding later.
QB volatility lower than prior years at the top (Allen locked early); secondary tier (Maye, Daniels, Hurts, etc.) fluctuating in the 50–80 range.
TE top tier firm; middle class remains soft in pure PPR (TEP leagues will compress this).
DST/K starting earlier than some historical norms in some mocks (Denver/Seattle/Houston defenses into Rounds 8–11).
