Slate: Remaining Week 2 games (Sunday, Sept. 20 – Monday, Sept. 21)
The GSPI (Game Script Predictive Index) attempts to project passing and rushing levels for team and player prop understanding.
This week is SCRIPT-PRIMARY mode: expected Week 2 starters are in place for most clubs, so live spread, implied totals, and offensive EPA drive the labels, with personnel used as a cap rather than the primary engine.
Week 2 is a 16-game regular-season slate after Thursday Night Football. Buffalo beat Detroit 41–31 at the new Highmark Stadium; Josh Allen accounted for five touchdowns in a completed high-total game that is closed for this report. Fifteen games remain, including Sunday Night (Colts at Chiefs) and Monday Night (Giants at Rams). Primetime and dome/retractable sites carry no weather tail. Material outdoor tails are limited to rain risk at MetLife and Gillette, 15 mph wind at Soldier Field, 11–14 mph wind at M&T Bank Stadium, extreme heat in Arlington, and altitude in Denver. Quarterback overlays that cap labels: Drew Lock starts for Seattle (Sam Darnold, glute/hip, Expected DNP), Atlanta’s starter among Cooper Rush / Michael Penix Jr. / Tua Tagovailoa remains unconfirmed, and Kyler Murray is still in concussion protocol (Carson Wentz is the live alternative). Last week’s headline-script record: 4 Hits / 1 Miss / 1 Inversion (6 of 6 headline scripts).
Consensus lines as of Friday morning, Sept. 18, 2026. Offensive EPA/play is current for 2026 (Week 1 sample). Implied totals use (Total ± |Home spread|) / 2.
Notes on EPA source vs. live units: Atlanta’s -0.38 reflects Cooper Rush’s Week 1 unit, not a healthy Tagovailoa/Penix offense.
Seattle’s +0.01 is a mixed Darnold/Lock sample; Lock is the live QB.
Minnesota’s -0.06 is largely a Wentz-driven close after Murray’s 11-snap exit.
Denver’s -0.44 is the live Nix unit after a 31–10 loss at Kansas City.
Those figures are listed as required and are not treated as healthy-starter offenses in later sections.
Strong is used only where the live spread, rest flags, and quarterback who will play still allow a realistic two-score game (Tampa Bay-Cleveland, Baltimore-New Orleans, San Francisco-Miami).
Philadelphia’s -7 environment is two-score capable on the number, but Week 1 Eagles EPA was negative, so the label is capped at Mild Positive.
Seattle is capped at Mild Positive because Darnold is Expected DNP and Lock is the live unit.
Atlanta defaults to Neutral because the live quarterback is unconfirmed.
Denver-Jacksonville is Neutral because the home favorite’s live EPA is the worst in the league and the spread is only 2.5.
Compressed for the full remaining slate. Fully expanded only for Strong-label games, High-confidence scripts, or heavy rest/QB change. This is SCRIPT-PRIMARY week; personnel outranks script only where the live quarterback is not the EPA-source quarterback (Atlanta, Seattle, Minnesota).
Strong / High-confidence / heavy-rest games
San Francisco 49ers (Strong Positive, High)
Expected starters: QB Brock Purdy, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR1 group intact, TE George Kittle if active as usual.
Expected DNP: none among skill starters.
Snap window: McCaffrey bulk early-down and passing-down work; positive script supports two-down rushing after Q1.
Miami Dolphins (Strong Negative, High)
Expected starters: QB Malik Willis (toe, full Wednesday), RB De'Von Achane, WR Caleb Douglas / Malik Washington.
Expected DNP: none confirmed among skill starters.
Snap window: Achane evaluation-to-bulk all game; Willis pass volume expands if the deficit hits two scores in Q2.
Baltimore Ravens (Strong Positive, High)
Expected starters: QB Lamar Jackson, RB Derrick Henry, TE Mark Andrews.
Zay Flowers (hamstring): DNP Wednesday and Thursday — Limited/Unknown. Ja'Kobi Lane on IR.
Named backups who inherit: Rashod Bateman and Andrews if Flowers sits; Henry remains the early-down back.
Snap window: Henry series 1 onward in a lead script; Andrews routes increase if Flowers is a game-time decision or DNP.
New Orleans Saints (Strong Negative, High)
Expected starters: QB Tyler Shough, RB Alvin Kamara (expected to play), WR Chris Olave.
Snap window: Kamara two-down work early, then passing-down/checkdown work if Baltimore pulls away; Olave remains the volume WR regardless of script.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Strong Positive, High)
Expected starters: QB Baker Mayfield, RB Bucky Irving, WR Mike Evans.
Snap window: Irving featured early-down after a two-score number; Mayfield pass attempts compress if Tampa leads by multiple scores after half.
Cleveland Browns (Strong Negative, High)
Expected starters: QB Deshaun Watson, RB Quinshon Judkins, WR1 expected.
Snap window: Judkins early-down first quarter, then passing-down committee if Tampa Bay creates the implied two-score gap; Watson pass attempts inflate in the deficit.
Seattle Seahawks (Mild Positive, Low — Darnold Expected DNP)
Confirmed: Drew Lock starts. Sam Darnold Expected DNP (glute/hip tendon).
Expected skill starters: Jaxon Smith-Njigba; featured RB from the Week 1 Price/committee look.
Snap window: Lock evaluation snaps all game; do not treat Seattle’s Week 1 EPA as a Darnold-live unit. Personnel outranks the modest road-favorite script here.
Atlanta Falcons (Neutral, Low — QB Unknown)
Live QB unconfirmed. Cooper Rush started Week 1. Tua Tagovailoa (oblique) has been a DNP this week. Michael Penix Jr. (knee) has practiced and is in the conversation but is not a locked starter.
Expected skill starters if the offense plays: Bijan Robinson, Drake London.
Snap window: treat Atlanta as an evaluation unit until Friday’s designation. Personnel outranks any road-dog script lean.
Minnesota Vikings (Mild Negative, Medium — Murray Unknown)
Kyler Murray remains in concussion protocol (limited Wednesday and Thursday). Carson Wentz is the live alternative and already closed Week 1.
Expected: Justin Jefferson; Jordan Mason in the backfield.
Snap window: Wentz bulk if Murray is not cleared Friday; Jefferson target share holds either way.
A. Effects by script type
Strong / Mild Positive
RB: Early-down attempts and rushing-yard props are the first beneficiaries. Goal-line and two-down roles hold value; passing-down RB work is not required.
QB: Passing-yard and pass-TD props compress once the lead is secure. Rushing QB props (Hurts, Jackson, Williams, Daniels) can still clear if designed keepers stay in the call sheet.
WR/TE: Reception floors hold; yardage and long-TD props fade as the game tilts to run. Inline TEs used as extra blockers gain blocking snaps, not targets, unless a WR1 is out.
Neutral
RB / QB / WR/TE: Use base rates. Do not pay a script premium or take a script discount. Atlanta–Carolina and Denver–Jacksonville belong here until the live quarterback and Harvey/Collins designations lock.
Strong / Mild Negative
RB: Rushing-attempt and rushing-yard props are the first cuts. Checkdown and passing-down RB work (Achane, Kamara, Judkins late) can still hit reception props.
QB: Attempts, passing yards, and pass-TD props are the lift. Sack and interception risk also rises.
WR/TE: Target volume and reception props rise. Deep shots are available only if the live quarterback can push the ball; Lock, Rush, Willis, and Watson do not automatically inherit a full starter deep-ball profile.
B. Decision Framework
Apply GSPI direction only to players confirmed or highly likely to play meaningful series. Discount any prop tied to a locked starter expected to rest. In PERSONNEL-PRIMARY overlays this week (Atlanta quarterback, Seattle quarterback, Minnesota quarterback), snap share comes first and script second. Prefer Strong labels only when Confidence is Medium or High — the three Strong games on this slate all carry High confidence. Weather is a secondary adjustment: rain at MetLife and Gillette, wind at Soldier Field and M&T Bank Stadium, heat in Arlington, altitude in Denver. None of those tails override a High-confidence Strong script.
C. Highest-Conviction Prop Angles for the week
Christian McCaffrey, SF, Strong Positive, bulk RB snaps with Purdy starting and a two-score home number.
Derrick Henry, BAL, Strong Positive, featured early-down snaps with Jackson starting and Flowers a snap-share risk, not a backfield risk.
Bucky Irving, TB, Strong Positive, featured early-down snaps against a Cleveland front that allowed a two-score Week 1 deficit script.
De'Von Achane, MIA, Strong Negative, passing-down and checkdown volume with Willis starting and San Francisco implied to lead.
Malik Willis, MIA, Strong Negative, elevated pass attempts if the deficit reaches two scores; toe listed but full practice.
Mark Andrews, BAL, Strong Positive, two-TE / WR1-adjacent routes if Flowers is Limited or DNP; still a starter if Flowers plays.
Ja'Marr Chase, CIN, Mild Negative, target and yardage volume if Houston holds the mild lead script.
Justin Jefferson, MIN, Mild Negative, high target share with either Wentz (live) or Murray (unconfirmed) in a likely deficit at Chicago.
Jalen Hurts, PHI, Mild Positive, designed-rush snaps plus a compressed pass script against the slate’s lowest total.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SEA, Mild Positive, WR1 target share with Lock starting; treat as a personnel-first angle, not a Strong-script angle.
Three strongest positive-script teams
San Francisco 49ers — Strong Positive, High — Rush ×1.22 / Pass ×0.80
Baltimore Ravens — Strong Positive, High — Rush ×1.22 / Pass ×0.80
Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Strong Positive, High — Rush ×1.22 / Pass ×0.80
Three strongest negative-script teams
Miami Dolphins — Strong Negative, High — Rush ×0.80 / Pass ×1.22
Cleveland Browns — Strong Negative, High — Rush ×0.80 / Pass ×1.22
New Orleans Saints — Strong Negative, High — Rush ×0.80 / Pass ×1.22
Philadelphia, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Chargers are Mild Positive only. They are not eligible for the headline six because the rest/live-unit rules cap them below Strong.
Philadelphia at Tennessee — Eagles are Mild Positive on a -7 / 39.5 number. The implied-total gap (23.25 vs 16.25) can become more lopsided than a headline Mild if Tennessee’s live offense stays at Week 1 efficiency. Larger blowout risk than any non-Strong favorite on the board.
Seattle at Arizona — not a headline Strong because Lock starts, but a backup-QB road favorite can still create a second-half run if Arizona’s Brissett unit stalls.
Jacksonville at Denver — Neutral on the GSPI card, yet the implied-total gap hides a live-unit mismatch (Jaguars +0.28 EPA vs Broncos -0.44). If Denver’s home number does not hold, this game can invert into a Jacksonville positive script rather than a conventional home-favorite grind.
None of those three displace San Francisco, Baltimore, or Tampa Bay from the headline six.
